Single-crystal lithium tantalate possesses irreplaceable properties in three key areas: high-temperature stability, low birefringence, and high resistance to photorefractive indexes, making it particularly valuable in 5G communication, photonics integration, and high-sensitivity sensing. Although slightly inferior to lithium niobate in electro-optic coefficient, breakthroughs in thin-film (300-900nm) and large-size (8-inch) technologies are expanding its applications from traditional acoustic devices to cutting-edge fields such as quantum computing and ultraviolet lasers.
